You must have heard many times that natural contraceptives don't work, that fertility awareness doesn't work.
Just a week ago I had a conversation with someone who was very determined to teach me that fertility awareness is unreliable and that the CDC, the Centers for Disease Control has determined that it has a 24% failure rate.
She was right to a certain extent. The CDC states that fertility awareness methods have a 24% failure rate, but there's one little thing she didn't know. that the method of awareness of fertility, sympto-thermal two tests is one of the methods of awareness of fertility and since there are so many methods, it is impossible to tap the effectiveness of one as the whole.
Under the vast umbrella of awareness-based fertility methods, many methods are not as effective as the safe days method, the bead method, various apps, etc. Many of these methods are based on calculation, on the old myth that our cycle is 28 days and we will ovulate on cycle day 14. These methods are not safe and I would give them higher failure rates. They have nothing to do with what's going on in your body and they tell you nothing about your specific body while the Fertility Awareness Method, Sympathothermal Two Tests, is something completely different.
What does the method say? We check 3 signs of fertility that our body gives us every day to determine if I am fertile today or not. It is not a guessing game or based on a predetermined calculation method. It's all about you and your body. Even women with irregular periods can practice this. there it is! That's why this method works because you check yourself every day and you know.
A huge study done in 2007 in Germany found that the efficiency rates of sympto-thermal two tests is 99.6-99.4% in perfect use, which means that 100% of the time you use the method 100% perfectly and in typical use, the efficiency rate is 98.2% while Consideration of human error. Just for comparison, the effectiveness rate of the pill is 91%.
Back to the CDC… in 2018 they corrected the failure rates of fertility awareness based methods to 2-24% because of what I just explained.
This lady dug in and tried to show that the data I provided was not from their official website, but unfortunately she failed
